Buy to Let has left me broke. I cannot get a tenant and there are no buyers. Who ever said bricks and mortar are a good investment?

We live in a capitalist society which every seems content with, but is subject to the law of gravity "what goes up must come down" ie boom and bust. To be successful you must see the slump coming, sell up, put your money in a safe place and wait for the goodtimes to come round again. Unfortunately for them even the big players are caught out as memories are short and "guarantees" of a sure thing are atractive. In the end it's probably best if the little people like you and me put our savings into the highest paying savings account which in the end would pay the same or even more over the longer period. Investing in equities is best left for the people who have reserves to see them over the bad times. Let to rent is not all gauranteed profit, too many outgoings if you can't find good a tenant and disaster if you run out of tenants.
